I speak with my mail carrier almost daily… what is an appropriate Christmas gift for her?
I know the postal regulations say they can’t accept cash or anything valued over $20… I am on first name basis with my postal carrier and she really goes out of her way for me. I want to give her something nice that she will actually keep/use.
I personally would be nervous to eat anything homemade, even if it was from someone I talk to daily. I’m sure the post office gets a lot of food they throw away. Last year I brought the post office a big gift basket of panera bagels and cream cheese, but even then I worry they just threw it all out.
Any non-food ideas? Or pre-packaged food…

Nothing wrong with a run of the mill gift certificate.
how about a gift card somewhere…..like a restaurant or department store or somewhere. Or just buy her a nice ornament for her tree.
if it is a nice pre-package gift of foods (cheeses or chocolates or coffees) then she would probably use it and not throw it away.
otherwise, how about a 20 dollar gift card to a local restaurant?
Suede gloves. You can get very nice ones at Target for about $10.00. They are thin enough she can wear during work but warm, too.
An unopened bag of chocolates or a gift certificate to a supermarket or gas station.
I think you should treat this situation like she was your friend, and not your mail carrier. If you want to go food way, I don’t think a simple box of chocolates would do harm. If you decide to go the gift card way, maybe a nice $20.00 gift card to kohls or target, maybe even panera bread or starbucks, hope this answered your question.
Maybe a cute little porcelian figurine of something she likes. A calendar would be nice as well. I’m thinking small, not food, but something that says “thanks.”
I also like the idea from the person who said gloves. Some other things come to mind..like a scarf or a hat as well. These are under $20 priced items usually that would be nice.
Good luck and have a Merry Christmas!
I am not sure where you are located but my Dad is a Postal Service Worker. He gets lots of money on his route and some might give as much as 50 dollars or a Gift card to a grocery store.
He also gets homemade cookies and stuff like that.
i would say get her a gift card to target or some pants.
But what ever you do do not get her a dog whistle.
