Possibly the only thing more fun than giving a great gift basket is to make one yourself, then give it away. The great thing about baskets is the sheer variety of choices you have for making each one into a unique creation.

Selecting the Basket:

It’s not a dish meant for fine dining; nor is it exquisite in any way. But there are very few dishes that soothe frayed nerves like Mac and cheese. This is a world favourite comfort food. There’s some magic in the delicious blend of macaroni and cheese that makes us keep wanting more in spite of the fat content it has. And yes! Kids love this dish; some are ready to live on just Mac and cheese topped with tomato ketchup.

Ask any group of people what their favorite comfort foods are and most likely cheese is involved. What if you could make you own cheese at home anytime you wanted, and it would be ready that same day! That’s what I did. I have always been into projects. For a long time I have made my own wine.(But that’s another story) I also like to cook. I could make my own brand of cheese to cook with or serve with my own wine! AWSOME!

Making cheese at home is not exactly an activity you could just kill some time with. It requires constant discovery, trial, and error, some degree of expertise, and loads of patience.  In its most basic form, cheese is made by removing the water content in dairy milk. Soft cheese contains more water, while hard cheese is drier. Thus, cream cheese would have a higher water content than, say, cheddar cheese.

Ok, so money is gonna be VERY tight this year, so I thought about doing homemade gift baskets for some people. Im trying to think of something Unique and not the ordinary hot chocolate, cheese, and such baskets. The main people I need help with are my sister and step sisters (12, 13 and 17), my mom and step dad and then one for my best friend her husband, her step daughter(12) and her son(10 months) I am kinda crafty, so ANY advice/tips would be GREATLY appreciated!!
